Tottori
Tottori
DESCRIPTION:
The Tottori is our first sandwich construction balisong. The project stemmed from a desire to do something a little different for MachineWise. The Tottori is our entry into the "standard" balisong world. The Tottori retains the machining quality, attention to detail and tuning that you have grown to expect from MachineWise but delivers it in a shorter overall package. Named for a small patch of sand dunes in Japan the texture of the Tottori provides ample grip while not being intrusive during flipping. Each Tottori ships with (2) sets of spacer weights to adjust its flipping traits to your preference. In the future we hope to offer spacers in many different materials for finer tuning.

This thing is absolutely amazing on the quality of the build and potential for modding as well as flipping great. I just only wish it had a medium weight set with it to have that happy middle. Because with the light weights you certainly loose some of the momentum with rollovers but get great fans, and vise versa. I feel even offering a medium heavy weight would add just that much more to the experience! Still highly recommend this knife and I love it!
Tottori is truly one of the best balis out there. It came with perfect tolerances, I absolutely love it!
Machinewise has made some great knives but this one falls way short. The milling on the handles feels like high grit sandpaper. Its not pleasant to flip. It also looks incredibly boring. Theres nothing special about this knife at all and you can get much better balisongs for under $500.
Tyler,
Thanks for the review and sharing your take on the Tottori. At MachineWise are make knives the we love to flip and carry. It seems your taste differ from ours and thats A-ok. We also love other brands products and we reconginize that we aren't the cheapest out there. Please send your money where ever gets you the most enjoyment.
Thanks,
MB
Loving it!
This balisong exudes elegance. Everything about it works together to make a perfect balisong. It has the perfect amount of handle taper in both axis, giving it a feel in the hand that is like non other. The balance of it is quite “snappy” and quick, Leading to effortless and flowy flipping. Overall 10/10 balisong and my favorite Machinewise product yet.
